BMT was established by decision of the State Participation Council (CPE) in May 2004. It is a joint venture between Béjaïa Port Enterprise (EPB) and PORTEK Systems and Equipment (PSE), a Singaporean company. BMT specializes in the management and operation of the container terminal at the Port of Béjaïa.
